When it comes to dressing my kids, I have this huge explosion of creativity take over me. Now I love the whole twinning, mummy and me style, but making an outfit look unique and original is where the would-be stylist in me really thrives! I’m also lucky enough to have a boy and two girls, allowing me to try my hand at both styles.
Living in the sandbox we call home, we are in the new fashion capital of the world and my kids are growing up immersed in a hub of originality, expression and innovation, already I have a 6 year old who MUST have the latest football trainers and a 4 year old girl whose nails need to match her outfits on the weekend! Soon enough the little one will follow in her siblings footsteps!
Talking of trend, although I love quirky retro brands who show off originality, there are some amazing high street brands that I always shop from! This season colour and print is really in – from flamingos to fluorescent colours it’s all about spring and summer!
My recent purchase was from a new high street brand called KIABI, recently opened in Festival City Mall, its an affordable brand with simple colourful modern trends. I found denim, colour, print and even character themed outfits, my girl still loves Elsa from Frozen!
Another great find with trends from this season is at H&M an all time favourite of mine and the kids, again bright colours this spring and summer with print and a tropical Hawaiian summer theme!
Going a little higher up market LEVEL KIDS has the flamingo theme on point! Bright pinks yellows and blues are this seasons colours, as temperatures rise in Dubai and the sun is out it’s definitely time to hit the beach and spend weekends at the pool! A few of my favourite swim wear brands for the kids are from STELLA COVE – one and two piece swimsuits with Pom Poms and frills! When it comes to boys though PAUL SMITH has it ready for the summer with bright orange and blue swim shorts, both knee length and shorter shorts are in for the season, I recently bought Raef bright yellow RALPH LAUREN swim shorts, quality and texture of the shorts were great and definitely they were made to jump in the pool with!
As always as it’s starting to get hotter in Dubai the shorts, skirts and dresses make more of an appearance- this season is about making a statement and being bold!
Tip of the month
Don’t be scared to mix colours this season
Let your imagination run with you.
Be different from the rest and blend colours and textures – you’ll be surprised with the results!
