Just like every film maker in today’s time who is in love with his craft, Rohit Shetty wanted his main leads Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade and Kunal Kemmu to outdo their performances in the last installment of the super- hit comedy franchise.
On the first day of shoot, when the boys were rehearsing the filmmaker noticed that there was something amiss in their energy and affinity. In a attempt to encourage and charge his men; Rohit quickly arranged the screening of Golmaal 3. On watching their scenes and the chemistry they shared in the earlier movie just for thirty minutes, the boys were all boosted with energy and more enthusiasm.
Shreyas recalls, “At the onset, Rohit was clear that we have to go beyond our last film. So, when he felt that our energy and chemistry failed to meet expectations, he showed us Golmaal 3; revisiting that movie gave us the required momentum.
Did the seven-year gap between the previous and current installments affect their connect with the characters? “No. In fact, when we got together to begin the film, we felt like we were resuming a shoot after a weekend break,“ he sums up.
